Dimapur bids farewell to DC Anoop Khinchi

Dimapur, August 5 (MExN): A farewell programme in honour of outgoing Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, Anoop Khinchi was held on August 5, in the DC’s office, Dimapur, with the incoming DC Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan, officers from headquarters, district officers, outpost officers, dobashis, and representatives from civil society organisations.

Addressing the gathering, outgoing DC Dimapur Anoop Khinchi credited “team work” as the main driving force for the successful activities taken up in Dimapur during his tenure, especially in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic, a DIPR report stated.

He thanked and lauded the Police, Medical team, administrative officers,  sanitary workers, Red Cross, convenors of various committees, media, CSOs, NGOs, churches and the citizens of Dimapur for extending their support and cooperation to him and said he was “truly touched.”

Anoop further requested them to render the same cooperation to the new DC Dimapur, while describing the new DC as “an efficient young administrative officer.”

The new DC Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan, meanwhile remarked that Khinchi “has set a strong foundation in place for handling the present COVID-19 pandemic.” Soundararajan assured that together with the district administrative officers, district officers, police, medical department, civil society organisations and citizens of Dimapur, he would continue to work on it, guided by the benchmark set by his predecessor.

He sought the same support and cooperation from the people as they have rendered to the outgoing DC Dimapur and was optimistic that Dimapur would move for a better future, the DIPR reported.

Dimapur Commissioner of Police, Rothihu Tetseo also spoke on behalf of the district officers and observed that although Khinchi had been in Dimapur for a short stint of 9 months 1 week, he was always accessible and dedicated. He conveyed his appreciation to the outgoing DC Dimapur and sought for his guidance even in the days to come. Tetseo also welcomed the new DC and assured to render full cooperation to work for the betterment of Dimapur district.

Speaking on behalf of headquarter officers, ADC Dimapur, V Lovitoly Sema described the outgoing DC as a humble, approachable and a person with high personality traits. She highlighted the various activities taken up by the Dimapur district administration under the leadership and guidance of Anoop Khinchi and maintained that Khinchi “worked tirelessly with an inclusive approach.”

Some bosses give targets, but he gave direction, some bosses lead by authority but he led us by respect, Lovitoly noted.

Representatives from various government establishments, NGOs, churches as well as CSOs also spoke on the occasion appreciating the services rendered by the outgoing DC Dimapur. A special number was also presented by Thejaser Khate.
