Dimapur Municipal Council clarifies on statement of Ex-Advisors

In response to the item as appeared in the local dailies dtd. 29th August 2012 under the caption “ DMC Affairs back to square one, Ex-Advisors”. The DMC clarifies that:

The DMC Advisory Board had appointed Staat Pro Consultancy Firm as the consultant for construction of Modern Shopping Complex cum parking at New Market. However, the former Chief Advisor, Er.K. Keditsu & Shri. Nikhashe Sema, former CEO, DMC had made changes in the original structure design made by the consultant which resulted the consultant to tender his resignation on 28/10/2010 with a remark he shall not be responsible for any calamity/ catastrophe which occur in any time in the future as the original designed has been rectified without his knowledge. Meanwhile on 25/5/2012, the Executive Engineer, Municipal Affairs Cell, Nagaland, Kohima was directed by the Government to make a spot verification of the construction and accordingly the technical report was submitted by the EE, MAC  with a recommendation not to have any provision for parking.

Therefore, in view of the above, the Government had approved for change of design in the construction and authorized DMC to go ahead with a construction of rooms for shops.

On 31st June 2012 under the chairmanship of Additional Director, Municipal Affairs Cell, Nagaland, Kohima a meeting was held and discussed on the non deposit/return of Scorpio bearing Reg. No. Nl.-07-C-2595 by the former Chief Advisor, Er.K. Keditsu, in spite of several notices after the dissolution of Advisory Board by Government and also non return of 1(one) truck bearing Regd. No. Nl-07-A 0892 by Shri Lepshi Ao, former Advisor, DMC in spite of several notices.

Therefore, for the above reasons and in order to avoid misuse in future, the meeting proposed to disposed off the 2(two) Scorpio to the Government. Accordingly, the Government had approved for disposal order Vide Letter No. Dtd. UD/MAC/DMC/VEH/2012 dtd. 27th July 2012.

In regard to the appointment of Staffs, it is to be clarified that appointments has been made against the existing vacancy as per need base due approval of the Government.

In regard to the leasing out of 2(Two) Cesspool vehicle to the Private party, it is to be clarified that as per record it is found that average monthly gross income was 120000/- out of which of Rs. 70,000/- to 80,000/- was for maintenance & fuels. In order to cut down expenditure, DMC has decided to lease out to Private Party so as to generate more revenue.
