Dimapur, February 8 (MExN): A two-day national seminar on “Understanding India's Northeast: Ethnicity, Identity, and Issues of Conflict” concluded at MGM College Dimapur on February 8.
The event was inaugurated on February 7 by Dr Samudra Gupta Kashyap, Chancellor of Nagaland University. In his keynote address, Dr Kashyap emphasised the importance of critical thinking and the need to enhance teacher quality in the region.
Fr Giju George, college administrator welcomed the guests and emphasised the significance of this seminar in shaping one’s academic journey and fostering a deeper understanding of contemporary societal issues.
The seminar featured a diverse array of presenters, including academicians and researchers from various universities, who contributed valuable insights into the unique structure and complexities of Northeast India.
Organised by IQAC of MGM College in collaboration with IQAC of Pranab College and sponsored by ICSSR-NERC, the seminar provided a platform for critical discussions on ethnic diversity, identity challenges, and conflict resolution in Northeast India, stated a press release from MGM College.
During the valedictory session, the seminar was chaired by Washimongla Jamir, Assistant Professor, MGM College. Dr. Santosh Kumar, Principal of Pranab College Dimapur, delivered the closing remarks, describing the seminar as both productive and rewarding.
Dr Sanjukuta Bhattacharjee (IQAC Coordinator, Pranab College) extended gratitude to the team and the participants.
