Dimapur-Peren boundary issue: Cabinet Sub Committee visits disputed areas
The Cabinet Sub Committee on the Dimapur-Peren boundary issue visited the disputed areas today and interacted with stakeholders.
DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 14 (MExN): The Cabinet Sub Committee on Dimapur and Peren led by Chairman S. Pangnyu Phom, Minister for Health & Family Welfare visited the disputed areas along the border of the two districts and neighboring villages today.
The committee members interacted with both the parties and asked them to submit all relevant documents to the committee through their respective Deputy Commissioners. The members informed that they would examine all documents and evidence submitted by the parties and chart ways towards a solution.
In the meantime, Pangnyu Phom requested both parties to maintain peace and to extend all possible help and co-operation to the committee while visiting and interacting with NGOs and public leaders from Lamhai Namdhi and adjoining villages.
The Dimapur Commissioner of Police and the Superintendent of Police, Peren also briefed the committee on the law and order situation and actions taken to prevent any anti-social element activities.
The Committee consists of 5 Cabinet Ministers including S Pangnyu Phom, Minister for Health and Family Welfare; Neiba Kronu, Minister for Planning and Coordination; Paiwang Konyak, Minister for Transport; and Metsubo Jamir, Minister for Rural Development. It was formed by the State Cabinet to finalize the demarcation of the Dimapur-Peren Boundary.
