DLSAs inaugurate LLCs in schools across Nagaland

Kohima, September 26 (MExN): District Legal Services Authorities (DLSAs) of Mokokchung, Wokha, Dimapur, Zunheboto, Longleng, Kohima, Kiphire, Phek, Tuensang and Mon inaugurated Legal Literacy Clubs (LLCs) at their respective districts in the month of August and September.  

In Mokokchung the LLCs were inaugurated at Dilong Government High School, N.I. Jamir School, Mokokchung Compound Government High School, Mayangnokcha Government Higher Secondary School and Senayangba Government Higher Secondary School.  

In Wokha it was inaugurated at Regimental School DEF Wokha, Government Higher Secondary School, Chukidong, JNV Chekitong, Governmentt Higher Secondary School Wozhuro and Green Valley School.  

The schools in Dimapur were Government High School School, Diphupar ‘B’, Government High School Naharbari, Government High School Burma Camp, Government High School Sarbura and Government High School Lengrijan.  

The ones in Zunheboto were Government Higher Secondary School Aghunato, Shovishe Memorial High School, Atoizu Government Higher Secondary School, Government Higher Secondary School Akuluto and Government Higher Secondary School Satakha.  

In Longleng, the LLCs were inaugurated at Vision Vale School (Pvt), Government High School, Nyengching, Christian High School (Pvt), Mt. Carmel School (Pvt) and St. Joseph School (Pvt). Meanwhile in Kohima, the launches were at Government High School Upper Chandmari, John Government Higher Secondary School Viswema and Sechu Zubza Government High School.  

In Kiphire as well, the LLCs were launched at Government Higher Secondary School, Amahator Town, Government Higher Secondary School, Phelungre Village, Government Yangphi School, Kiphire Town, Cambridge High School (Pvt) and El-Beth High School, Kiphire (Pvt), in Phek at Government High School, Chozuba and Government High School, Chetheba.  

While, in Tuensang LLCs were inaugurated at Loyem Memorial High School, Government High School Chaba and Government High School, Hakushang; and in Mon, an LLC was inaugurated at Government Higher Secondary School, Mon Town.  

The LLCs were equipped with computers, printers, furnitures and books for the purpose of running the club activities. More LLCs will be opened at Phek and Peren in the month of September, the release stated.  

The Scheme of Legal Literacy Clubs is formed by the National Legal Services Authority with an idea to spread knowledge of the legal rights and duties and to give legal suggestions to the poor and needy for their various problems and for providing legal literacy and legal services programmes without causing any detriment to their study curriculum. The nation-wide scheme of LLCs comprises of students of Class-IX and above in schools and second year and below in colleges as members. The number of the members is not less than 10 and not exceeding 25.  

The Club, run under the guidance of a teacher called "Teacher-in-Charge" is to be nominated by the Headmaster/Principal in association with the National Service Scheme (NSS) and under the overall supervision of the Headmaster/Principal of the respective High School/College.
