Do you support the Naga Reconciliation process?

Some of those who voted yes had this to say:
•    Arent we all tired of fighting and killing each other. Is this not the only way that we can rebuild the Naga nation. IF you are a true Naga, you will support Naga reconciliation.
•    Naga factionalism has destroyed the Naga cause for sovereignty. I hope the leaders of the different factions know this and I hope they are reading this poll.  Factionalism has brought nothing but more division among Nagas and it has only taken us further and further away from our goal. So what is wrong in coming together and working together for the same goal. It is very difficult to understand why the factions are fighting each other when they are for the same cause. Having different political parties is fine, but why fight each other. There are many revolutions in the world, where there are many groups, but at least they are not fighting each other, they are fighting the common enemy. But here Nagas are fighting each other and letting the enemy have a good laugh. Reconciliation is the only way left for Nagas.
•    Yes. If we are to survive as a people and as a nation. Is there any other option?
•    Yes, why not. Don’t we want to be untied? United colors of Naga!!
•    Yes, Nagas have no other choice. The factions are thinking only about themselves. They forget to remember that the fish cannot survive without the water. The public are truly tired and they want the factions to unite together so that they can jointly fight for Naga sovereignty. If the factions dont reconcile, they Naga public will turn against them and especially the young people will no longer want to have anything with the Naga movement.
•    The Naga public is tired of paying taxes to four or five different Naga governments. The Naga public are fed up and sick of such bankrupt politics. The Naga public can no longer support the factions to fight each other. Don’t the factions realize that the Naga public is supporting them only to attain freedom, and not to fight each other? The last few months, as a public, I have seen first hand the leaders of different Naga factions come together. How good it would be if they would join hands to jointly fight for freedom. This is reconciliation. Also the public will be happy, because they will pay tax only to one government. The government has to be a new one. All the existing ones should be dissolved and a new Naga government should be formed.
•    Yes of course I will support the Naga reconciliation, but first thing we Naga people don’t have any civic sense, and keep fighting for no sense. Why don’t we love one another? We cannot think of Naga independence unless we love one another! Hellooo people come on, that’s why another main reason we cant develop our state! Everyone want to live a comfortable life! If we hate another! First love yourself and love your neighbor then we can have a betta place to live in.
•    Yes, I support the Naga reconciliation process. This is the only way that Nagas can achieve their freedom. Ever since the killing of T Sakhrie and the factionalism that took place after Shillong Accord and the split in 1988, it has achieve nothing but bitterness, anger and hatred. For once lets not talk about our own group principles, but lets talk about Naga rights. Reconciliation is the only way now. All other ways have been exhausted.
•    Yes to achieve our goal and fulfill our dreams Nagas must reconcile and unite. No alternative. May He help us.
•    Yes very much. I strongly support the reconciliation process because Nagas will never reach its destination without reconciliation. Reconciliation will give birth to love, peace and unity among brothers, and through which we can obtain our destination. May God continue to bless the Nagas. Kuknalim.
•    As a human being one must be reconciled with God and men, so we fully support NR process till the end at any cost by any means!
•    Yes, my reasons are very personal. Ever since the Naga reconciliation process was started, I can rest easy and live with no worries. Before there, even if there was no fighting every day, just the tension was suffocating and it creased a fear psychosis. Even worse, people were very suspicious of each other because people were afraid of each other. But now, just step out to the market, the feeling of fear has been replaced and you can actually see people smile and walk around the market freely without any fear. People feel secure. To me this is freedom. What is sovereignty if people cannot live without freedom from fear? Naga reconciliation has given me a taste of what it would mean if all Nagas were united for the same goal and purpose. I know there are many people like me, who are tired of factional violence, and that is why they have become very indifferent to the Naga cause, even to the extent of rebuking Naga national leaders. I hope the leaders of the factions will read this poll and realize that the average Naga citizen is tired of their factional politics and that we want them to come together. Please listen to the voice of the Naga public.
•    No peace loving Nagas in his/her right mind can afford to be indifferent to FNR and question its genuineness and sincere effort of attaining the ultimate goal of permanent solution to the 60 years old protracted Naga issue, yet there are many difficult challenges and bumpy road ahead and it may even draw a great deal of flak 4 none other than what it tries 2 put the shoulder 2 the wheel along the way. At this crucial point there is neither gush of divine favor nor just by waving a magic wand to bring the longest running insurgency to an end for good but the entire Naga race sharing the common hope heading towards the common destiny has no choice but to come together as one 4 all and all 4 one with one voice on this very political issue will pay huge dividends in the long run or else which I guess will turn out 2 to no lesser than a frankenstein’s monster that plays big havoc with real progress and great prosperity in our state.

Some of those who voted no had this to say:
• Not only for the Naga, in the northeast we are ONE
• Its a crap. Be happy where u r...
• There is no point of reconciliation if the factions are not willing to bury their past and forgive each other. Without forgiveness how will they even reconcile?
• The past sins of the factions is a big hindrance to the reconciliation process. Unless the reconciliation process gives room for the past sins to be forgiven the process will fail. I hope the FNR will ensure that the past sins do not become an obstacle to reconciliation.
•    No, the reason is the top most person in every faction or group are physically absent.

Some of those who voted others had this to say:
•    Nagas in my understanding are already united as a people. ‘Reconciliation’ should be among the warring underground factions, and not the Nagas as a whole. Moreover it is impossible to reconcile if the guilty do not admit their wrongdoings and take responsibility for the crimes committed by them. First, repentance then only reconciliation can follow. Where is the repentance? And it is wrong on the part of FNR to force reconciliation upon the afflicted!
•    The present Naga reconciliation process is confined only to the factions. There is a need for the reconciliation process to include the entire Naga population. Reconciliation only among the factions will lead to political reconciliation, but how about social and economic reconciliation. I hope the leaders of the reconciliation process will keep in mind that reconciliation among the factions itself is not enough, the reconciliation between tribes, clans and the haves and haves not, between the government and the public is equally important.
•    I will support the Naga Reconciliation process only if the process will not end at reconciliation, but will continue till a political settlement is achieved. The Naga Reconciliation cannot end at reconciliation, because the division itself was first caused by the political issue and so the political issue must be solved as well. I hope the initiators of the reconciliation process will keep reminding the people that the Naga reconciliation process is to lead to a political settlement.
•    Only f 8 brings wit 8 complete cessation of Extortion, Rule of the Gun,& only f d "leaders" dispense wit their mafia-like lifestyles & try 2 really embrace  democracy. Othrwise 8's just anothr waste of time.
•    Reconciliation should not be the final objective, it should only be the means to jointly achieve Naga freedom and sovereignty. Reconciliation is a life long process of jointly growing together and I hope that the Nagas will do that.
•    The Naga reconciliation has been able to stop the factional clashes and paper war. This itself is a big achievement. But there is a big question mark. Unless the factions agree to come together and form one Naga national government, all this efforts will go in vain. It is not wise for the factions to become one, because there will be too many leaders and it will not be a healthy trend, but Nagas can have only one government, so the reconciliation effort must focus on the factions to form one Naga government in which all the factions can participate.
