Do you think that Nagas made any progress in 2012?

Some of those who voted  YES had this to say:
•    Yes in some fields; while education is being transformed as a result of these changes, but a big no in politics. It has beautifully highlighted the degradation in politics and corruption having assumed the way of life. Politics has made Nagaland a veritable hell. That’s what I think or it might be the other way about. We the people have made a hell of politics. Every time a political party comes to power; it tampers with over educational system, ruling party MLAs, directors and so on, all of them have itchy palms. I have to offer them bagful so I must think of all the necessary before doing anything. Nagaland a heavenly place alright but inhabited by fiends. I do hope at least 1% of changes comes in politics…
•    Nagas were trying, can do everything we nagas proud to people those who supporting nagas it can help again and again.
•    Its good to see some people prosper and do well in life. At one point of time, they were no body, but with the patronage of the state government, they are still pretty comfortable and doing well. While enjoying their prosperity they should not forget where they have come from and to be humble.
•    Yes…. We the Nagas have developed a lot compared to the past. It’s a pride to have the present leaders.
•    We progressed in backward of technology, electricity, politics, peace and some infrastructure development. But definitely we progress in celebrating festivals and other extravaganzas...
•    Progress has been made in the area of politicians and bureaucrats travelling all over the world in the name of promoting Nagaland and seeking investors. At least our state leaders are getting to see the world and to get first hand knowledge on how the world has progressed. This is also a good sign because it gives our state politicians and bureaucrats the opportunity to recognize their own short-comings and their failure in delivering good governance.

Some of those who  voted NO  had this to say:
•    Nagas had definitely progressed, But Nagaland haven’t!!!
•    NO, the much awaited Naga solution was a pipe dream! Youths were fooled in the year of entrepreneurship. Power shortage was a great setback. A big divide between the rich and the poor. Naga leaders are not serious about progress.
•    I see no improvement in field of infrastructure and road.
•    The present govt. did not pay any due attention for the court case of selected pt/gt 2012 appointment order.
•    When youth at mass r left behind; progress is out of question.
•    No. The condition of the roads reveals whether there has been any progress at all. Just also look at the kind of urbanization that is taking place in Dimapur and Kohima. After a few years it will be impossible for people to live because everything will become congested. Nagaland is going down the drains.
•    Not at all. only the politicians n bureaucrats have gain a lot at the expense of the public.
•    No, Good for extortion.
•    Still no progress at all. Reconciliation seems to be name sake.
•    Nagas are still killing each other, and divided.
•    hahahahahaha another 50 yrs n still counting....no
•    No, if we talk in relation to our government, because as always, only a few hand-picked disciples of politicians will have witnessed development in their personal accounts. However, we've also seen unprecedented growth of successful entrepreneurs who've made it through sheer commitment individually.
•    No change at all still the same old attitude towards development
•    NO, in reality nagas have to go a long way in socio-economic and political.

Some of those who voted OTHERS had this to say:
•    Progress seems to have happened only for a very few people. Even in the case of young people, it’s the same people who are given the opportunity to shine. It is very disappointing to see the same people time and time again benefiting from the government, while the rest of the society languishes in poverty and are fighting for an opportunity to shine. Why is it that the same people, same faces and same organizations are promoted by the government? How can there be any real progress when it is the same people that benefits from the government policy, while the rest is ignored.
• Even the ebb generation will impact some extend of progress. Your question should be more elaborate and direct in this question.
• The power situation in Nagaland reached its bottom in 2012. With all they hype about progress and development, the public got to witness that the progress is only for a few people, while public infrastructure like roads and electricity was completely ignored. IN fact the funds means for infrastructure like roads and electricity has been siphoned off by the government all in the name of development. It now seems that development is not for the public, it is only for the government and their stooges.
•    It is good to see young people taking more responsibility and they are more aware of what is needed to be done. Unfortunately, young people are not in power and have not asserted themselves enough to actually change the direction in which Nagaland is heading towards. Only if young people step up and assume greater responsibility, so much more can be done. As of now, honestly, the direction that we are all heading for is not a very bright future.
•    Only in music...alobo, tetseo sisters and few others...have produced some good quality music videos..for the 1st time in Nagaland, we could see our own locally made quality music videos..
•    For the MLAs, Ministers, Others, etc. Progress have been made every where even some parts outside the state but for the public/farmers it's yet, i think we could not take such things as a progress. There are many who wants to witness what progress in reality is.
•    Nothing much has really changed, but what I have noticed is that the young officers of the Nagaland government seem to be much more hard-working with strong work ethics, sincerity and honesty in their work. If they continue in this manner Nagaland will soon have a dynamic and vibrant group of public servants. This itself is good news.
•    Have we progressed in the span of a year? Have we changed? Have we evolved? I think that is difficult to assess just within one year. Our circumstances and suffering/endurance, progress is difficult to assess in the span of just a year. But if we should specifically dwell on this year, what have we achieved? Where have we gotten? What have we done? Well, we've raised a youth-voice. We raised some public awareness. We have received a more responsible media. We've seen potholes repaired, even in the remoter regions of Nagaland. We have seen the formation of Eastern Nagaland and the request for a separate 'Frontier Nagaland' state. We have addressed the issue of influx of Bangladeshi illegal immigrants into India and the north-east. We have faced an exodus of Naga students, workers from Indian cities as a result of the clashes in Kokrajhar and discrimination towards Rohingyas in Mynmar. We have faced Loitam Richard's murder in Bangalore. That's kind of a summary of what we have gone through this year. What we make of it; how we make of it. Only time will tell. A year is too less an assessment when 65 years of uncertainty is behind us. Though, what we make of our future perhaps take one year, after the other.
•    Besides other than business as usual, I couldn’t get the right parameter to figure out any surprising level of progress of Nagas in 2012. Let every like minded Naga give his/her effort to collectively make sure that 2013 should not be another mediocre year in the making.
