DPDB Dimapur deliberates on dilapidated condition of NH-36

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 26 (MExN): The Dimapur District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting for the month of August 2022 was held at DC conference hall under the chairmanship of MLA, Dimapur-II A/C, Moatoshi Longkumer, who is also the Chairman of DPDB, Dimapur on August 25.

During the meeting, the board discussed at length about the dilapidated condition of the road along NH-36 from 160/000 km to 166/880 km in Dimapur city and agreed to write to the PWD (NH) to expedite the construction work to alleviate the sufferings of the public.

Concerned about the rising cases of accidents and criminal activities, the board was of the opinion that CCTV cameras have to be installed at various locations in order to monitor and discourage such happenings. It was decided to write to the Commissioner of Police to identify areas required to install CCTVs.

Clearance of trees around Assam Rifles camp at Firing along NH-36 was also discussed and agreed to direct the relevant authorities to clear the trees along NH 36 as they were posing hazard to the public.

During the meeting Sylvan School, Hollohon village, Eralibill, Dimapur and Excellence Academy, Aoyimkum village were recommended by the Board for upgradation.

After thorough deliberations the following societies were recommended by the Board: Sharon Self Help Group, Toluvi village, Impact Foundation Society, K Hollohon village, Nagaland Kho Kho Association, Landmark Colony, Archway Society, Purana Bazar, Dimapur, Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sapha, opposite DMC Office, Alumni Association Sakus Mission College, Landmark Colony Dimapur, Touch Life Society, Kher Mahal Churches colony, All Nagaland Electricity Field Workers Pensioners Welfare Society, Burma Camp, Power House colony, Horus Welfare Society, Indisen village, Dimapur and Ongpang Tantan Welfare Society, Nuton Bosti, Ao Khel Dimapur. 

However, approval of Elate Welfare Society, Model colony, Purana Bazar and Wise Nagaland, Rengma colony Dimapur were deferred to future meetings pending submission of verification report and relevant documents from the appropriate authority.

A detailed presentation was given by the representative of Waste Management, Amos Ezung and Environmentalist, Tonika Miachieo, with a proposal to remove hazardous Eucalyptus trees near Super Market under DAN and redevelop the area as a mini park.
