He was awarded with a certificate and cash award by the KPC president Alice Yhoshü during the observation of National Press Day held at KPC office on November 16.

Jamir has been in the field of journalism for over eight years, and is currently an Associate Editor at The Morung Express.

He holds a PhD and Master of Arts from JNU, New Delhi; graduated from Patkai Christian College, and a Google News Initiative (GNI) India Training Network Trainer.

The Kohima Press Club Impact Journalism Award 2022 is being conferred to Moa Jamir in appreciation of his journalistic work in highlighting issues of public concern that need attention and action.

KPC President Alice Yhoshü said that his work, "particularly, in shedding light on the digital competence of the state government departments in this age of ever advancing information technology and e-governance, has stood out among others."

She also encouraged him to continue to endeavour for social justice, and bring to the fore issues that contribute to increasing people's knowledge and upholding the truth.

It maybe mention that the Kohima Press Club Impact Journalism Award was initiated in 2020 to acknowledge the contribution of members of its fraternity and encourage them to continue to strive for quality journalism.
