DVC, DNYO and DNWO condemns alleged forced entry into residence

Dimapur, August 14 (MExN): The Diphupar Village Council (DVC), Diphupar Naga Youth Organisation (DNYO), and Diphupar Naga Women Organisation (DNWO) have strongly denounced an alleged incident on August 8 involving armed NSCN(R) cadres who ‘forcefully entered’ the home of Vikheho Assumi.

The cadres entered the residence a “motive to kidnap him after they try to extort him,” stated a joint press release issued by the DVC, DNYO and DNWO on August 13. “Upon knowing his absence they harassed and threaten the victim’s family,” it added.

The release further noted that Assumi is a bonafide citizen of Diphupar running a legal business and such “despicable act of extortion, kidnapping and terrorising the victim and family must be condemned by every right thinking citizen.”

The DVC, DNYO & DNWO further demanded such abhorring activities should be thoroughly investigated and perpetrators must be punished as per the law.

They further highlighted that Diphupar is a ‘mini-Nagaland’ where unity, peace and harmony prevail and no miscreants should disrupt the peaceful atmosphere of the village.

“Any anti-social activities committed within the village shall not be tolerated and stern action shall be initiated against them as per the law of the village,” stated the release appended by Ghuzui Shohe, Chairman, DVC; T Molungba Ao, President, DNYO and Khriezovonuo, Chairperson, DNWO.
