Dimapur, August 7 (MExN): The first session of the Academic Development e-lecture series organised by the Diocesan Mission Education Board, Bhilai and hosted by St Thomas, IQAC, Bhilai and Christian College of Engineering and Technology (CCET), Durg was held on August 7 via Google meet.
The e-Lecture series on the topic ‘Upskill and Upscale’ was deliberated by the resource person Rishikesh K B, Assistant Professor, School of Commerce, Finance and Accountancy Central Camp, Christ University, Bangalore.
Rishikesh K B deliberated on the idea of 'Upskill and Upscale' as a preparatory means for coping effectively with modern life challenges. He further stated that the use of artificial intelligence has entered contemporary classroom teaching and as educators, he highlighted on the need to work on technological upgradation. In view of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, which has changed lives, both personally and professionally, the resource person exerted on the needs to make students more relevant in the changing environment.
The meeting was compered by Dr Shiney Mendonce and began with a welcome address by Dr M G Roymon, Principal, St Thomas College, Bhilai.
Dr Joseph Mar Dionysius also addressed the meeting by stressing on the importance and dynamics of education in this generation.
Principal, Rev Fr Dr Shibu Varghese, along with all the teaching faculty of MGM College, Dimapur also attended the meeting and altogether over 60 participants attended the meeting.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr Vinita Thomas, Dean Academics. The Webinar will continue till August 10, a press release from the Media cell of the MGM College informed on Friday.
