Dimapur, February 17 (MExN): A number of frontline students’ organizations from the eastern region today asked the Khezhienuomia Youth Organization to retract its summon to the Eastern Naga Students’ Federations’ president and general secretary over the ongoing NH-155 controversy.
The Konyak Students’ Union, Yimchunger Akheru Arihako and the United Sangtam Students’ Conference today asked the KYO to retract the statement. The ENSF is not against any individual or organization but “poor workmanship,” leaders of the three organizations said today.
President of KSU Khongjah Konyak, YAA president LA Ato Yimchunger and USSC president Likhum Sangtam said that the ENSF was not against any organization or individual. They were only against ‘the poor workmanship.’ The three leaders invited that KYO to visit National Highway-155 between Tuensang and Kiphire. Verification is to be held with departmental officials, contractors and students leaders on February 19 (Tuensang stretch) and February 20 (Kiphire stretch).
The leaders also expressed support to the ENSF’s “consensus decision” and said that no summons can be issued to individuals. “If they (KTO) are really sincere and responsible organization (they may) come and see the site of the work for better understanding,” the leaders said.
