Kiphire, November 25 (MExN): The Evergreen Welfare Society (EWS), Kiphire conducted a series of skill development programmes aimed at providing livelihood alternatives for unemployed individuals in the region.

The first training programme, held in Seyochung Town, focused on banana fiber extraction and handicraft, where 25 women were trained. This innovative program aimed to harness locally available resources to create eco-friendly products, promoting both environmental conservation and economic empowerment.

In Kiusam Town, another programme on fruit and vegetable dehydration and processing was conducted, benefiting 20 women participants. This initiative introduced modern techniques for preserving perishable goods, enabling participants to enhance food security and explore market opportunities for processed products.
Additionally, a specialized training on bamboo craftsmanship was organised for 20 men in Kiusam Town. Bamboo, a sustainable and abundant resource in the region, was utilized to create a range of artisanal and functional products, thereby promoting traditional craftsmanship and providing avenues for income generation.
