Dimapur, July 13 (MExN): In a run-up event to the ongoing contention between ‘Purana Bazar ‘B” and former MLA TA Ngullie over the unauthorized land patta issue, the Purana Bazar ‘B’ Council has clarified on certain counts “leveled at us by DC Dimapur” and has asserted that “we the public are not going to allow TA Ngullie and KN Ngullie to snatch away even an inch of village social welfare reserved land”.
“We would like to clarify our position on the allegations leveled against us by DC Dimapur, that Purana Bazar ‘B’ (Bokajan) was established in the year 1942 and now it is running 65 years. As a matter of fact, right after the formation of Nagaland statehood, all established villages prior to it was recognized” a rejoinder issued by Uttam Mech, Council Chairman and three other citizens, K Viwoto Yepthomi, Khekiye Swu and Akheto Chishi, asserted.
“Obviously, followed all the directives of the government it has become part of the government responsibilities to look after the welfare of the public. By now we are availing all the due facilities granted by the Government developmental works and all the public distribution system. In addition to that primary school, Anganwadi Center, water-supply, electricity, VDB etc.” it added.
The Council asserted that when in 1971 the Government had issued a sketch-map to the village authority, individual private land ownership patta got separated (Jamna-Bandi). “The land throughout its breadth and length falls within the jurisdiction of the village other than individual private ownership has become a part of social welfare reserved land area. Hence, it is undisputed as long as the position is always clear to the knowledge of village authority” the Council claimed.
It also stated that making Jamna-Bandi has to be routed through the village authority. “Whereas TA Ngullie, ex-Minister without the knowledge of village authority, by use of all unfair means, he made a bogus patta. In spite of seeing all the unfair means, KN Ngullie DC Dimapur used force to suppress the right stand of Purana Bazar ‘B’ village” the council asserted adding that this is directly or indirectly violating “human rights of Article 12 provision given”.
Maintaining that the Purana Bazar ‘B’ is a well-organized and long-established village the council asserted that “we the public are not going to allow TA Ngullie and KN Ngullie to snatch away not even an inch” of the area.
Meanwhile, in a separate statement, ex-MLA TA Ngullie has demanded an unconditional apology from the signatories of the statement that appeared on July 11 local dailies which claimed “the village authority and people are being meted out untold miseries and injustice”. The ex-MLA termed the allegations as “criminal allegation” and demanded an apology without delay or the issue would not be tolerated. The ex-MLA also reminded that the said village has no registration or recognition as such pertinent to village, town council, town colonies from EAC, SDO, DC or approval of the Government of Nagaland.
Terming the matter as “shallow games and cheats” TA Ngullie expressed displeasure that Dimapur Deputy Commissioner’s name has been dragged into the issue. “… (He) is a God-fearing man from his childhood unknown to alcohol, smoke and all kinds of bad habits. It is unbelievable for him to indulge in any injustice in thought and action” the ex-MLA asserted.
Ngullie also stated that “the remaining portion of the same paper page 5 is not political nor seeking any public opinion for support as it is purely legal matter which the court of law will speak if necessary”.
“Basing on this point, I would like to request the Government to view seriously the organizations which is detrimental to public security and peaceful living; which have no registration, approval from the appropriate authority such as recognized village, town council, town colonies from EAC, SDO, DC and approval of the Government of Nagaland etc” TA Ngullie stated.
