
Dimapur, April 1 (MExN): Deputy Chief Minister and BLP leader Y Patton extended Kundaglun, Aoleang and Monyu to the Chang, Konyak and Phom communities on Wednesday.
In a message from the Dy CM’s Media Cell, Patton expressed gratitude tothe organisers of these festivals for understanding “the gravity of the situation we are going through,” and deciding to call off full scale celebrations.
The Dy. CM along with the state BJP legislators pray that these festivals bring forth peace and prosperity even as they celebrate with their loved ones at home, the message read.
Meanwhile, President of Naga People's Front Dr Shürhozelie Liezietsu and party rank and file also extended greetings to the Konyaks on the occasion of Aoleang Mongyu festival, Changs on Kundaglün Festival and the Phoms on Phom Monyu. The festivals are celebrated from the first week of April every year.
“Let us all pray to the Almighty for a successful and bountiful year and forge ahead with renewed vigor into the coming year,” the message from the NPF Press Bureau stated.
During this joyous celebration, let us all aim to develop relationships between people, and at the same time, promote peace, culture and progress, it said.
