
Dimapur, February 7 (MExN): Network of Mokokchung District People Living with HIV/AIDS (NMP+) in collaboration with Dimapur Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS conducted the 54th sensitization camp at Niuland, Dimapur on February 5.
Toshi Sangpi Advisor NMP+ Mokokchung in a press release said that the cam was conducted with the youth members, church workers, students and immigrant workers under the sponsorship of Bharti Infratel Ltd.
Moatemjen, president DNP+ shared about the HIV/AIDS scenario in Nagaland and also educated the participants on ARV treatment, facts on HIV/AIDS and insight on ART and non ART scenario of Dimapur. Toshi Sangpi, Advisor NMP+ introduced on the objective of the mission before delivering on the topic ‘impact of stigma and discrimination.’ In his message, he encouraged and called upon the people to support in eradicating stigma and discrimination. He quoted “Love and care can transform our land” and narrated some past experiences on ‘how PLHAs were discriminated’ and he ended by stating, “If we continue to do so... we will lose this fight”.
T. Temsu Jamir, President NMP+, in his welcome note highlighted about Bharti Infratel Ltd and the various projects undertaken by this group. He said that the sensitization camp has been successfully conducted at four different districts and that it has been materialized only through the sponsorship of Bharti Infratel Ltd. He thanked the church leaders for enabling the team to host the camp and ended with a note of hope that the programme will be beneficial for the participants and will create a positive impact in the mind of people, especially on younger generation.
Tiasenla chaired the session and the programme was opened with an invocation by the Youth Leader, SBC, Niuland. Some official from NACO also graced the programme and ended with a benediction by Mughatoli, Sunday school supervisor, SBC.
