
Dimapur, AprIL 1 (MExN): The 12th Open Football Trophy of the Jalukie Valley Youth Organisation (JVYO) came to an end today with Flamingos FC emerging as winners. They beat New Jalukie (Red) by 3 goals to nil on Saturday. Flamingo FC received Rs.80, 000 along with trophy and certificate as champions while the runner up team received Rs.30, 000 with trophy and certificate. The final match and the closing ceremony was graced by S Chuba Longkumer, Parliamentary Secretary, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry. He stated that sports can bring people together and become a platform to propagate peace, unity and development, while allowing dialogue between cultures. “Be a role model towards uniting communities, promoting peace, advocating for better education and social developments and be the channel of change to the community,” he said to the players. He further encouraged them to make use of the facilities available and excel in their field.
