GHS Lower Chandmari gets new school building

Kohima Deputy Commissioner Gregory Thejawelie today inaugurated the new school building of Government Middle School (GMS), Lower Chandmari, Kohima. The new school building was constructed under SSA 2017-18 at the cost of Rs. 30.26 lakh.
Thejawelie, who is also chairman of District Mission Authority (DMA) Samagra Shiksha Kohima congratulated the colony panchayat, school management committee (SMC), colony residents and all concern for successfully completing the new school building. He urged the teachers to be more responsible and discharge their duties with more sincerity and dedication. He also stressed on the need to upgrade the students skills, knowledge and talents.
DC reminded the teachers that government is providing all necessary requirement including training for the teachers to equip themselves to teach the students well. In this regard, he asked the teachers to be more responsible with their assigned duty.
With the construction of the new school building, Thejawelie urged the gathering to focus on quality education. He stressed on the need to make the best use of the provided facility and produce the desire result.
Also speaking on the occasion, M. Thongsenlo, assistant district coordinator Samagra DMA Kohima also congratulated on completion of the new school building and expressed gratitude to the land donor G.K. Rengma. He urged the community and teachers to protect the school property and utilize for the right purpose. He appealed the teachers to be more sincere and dedicated towards their responsibilities.
Lower Chandmari panchayat chairman Nohokhul Sophie, GB Hoshito Assumi also spoke on the occasion.
School Managing Committee (SMC) Secretary John Kath read out the representation, which was later handed over to Kohima DC by SMC chairman Thungbemo Mozhui.
It pleaded for upgradation of GMS Lower Chamnmari to that of GHS, construction of footstep from road to the school, fencing of school compound, filter drinking water and appointment of Grade IV staff.
Earlier, welcome address was delivered by head teacher Y. Nchumbemo Odyuo while vote of thanks was proposed by SMC member Dr. Achila Lanu.
