COIMBATORE, APRIL 28 (MExN): Karunya Deemed University hosted the International Conference on Sustainable Air and Space Technologies (SAST 2025) from April 24 to 26, bringing together leading researchers, scientists, and industry experts from around the world to discuss advancements in sustainable aerospace systems.
Organized by the university’s Division of Aerospace Engineering, the event opened with a pre-conference workshop on “Challenges in Aero Engine Development and Propulsion Technologies,” setting the tone for the discussions that followed. Over two days, the conference featured 145 research paper presentations by both international and Indian participants, highlighting a broad range of innovative ideas and breakthrough research.
Distinguished guests included Dr. Asher Yahalom of Ariel University, Israel; Ajay Pratap, Associate Director at Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE), DRDO; and Dr. Philip Panicker, Chief Scientific Officer of Netzer Global Alliance, Abu Dhabi. Eminent figures such as Dr. Balakrishnan Bakthavachalam, Dr. Jerry Jacob Isaac, Sreelal Sreedhar, B.V. Ananda Rao Patnaik, Dr. Manimozhi Theodore, Dr. B.V.N. Charayulu, Dr. T. John Tharakan, Dr. Shripad Mahulikar, and Dr. T. Jaya Chandran also participated, representing premier research organizations including DRDO, CSIR, and ISRO.
University officials said the conference provided a critical platform for fostering international collaboration, exchanging cutting-edge research, and encouraging innovation in sustainable air and space technologies. Through expert addresses, technical sessions, and interactive discussions, SAST 2025 reaffirmed Karunya Deemed University’s commitment to advancing aerospace engineering and nurturing the next generation of researchers and innovators.
