GOI Must Ensure Assam Rifles Do Not Cross Limit: GPRN/NSCN

Naga political struggle is now more than 6 decades. The track record proves that the Assam Rifles have dented India’s image time and again as a peaceful democratic Nation by employing maximum brutality and harassment upon the Nagas people in its North Eastern frontier. The Ceasefire exists but currently the actions on the Assam Rifles have left a lot to be desired. For the last 60 years, Naga people have bore the brunt of the Assam Rifles and therefore the officers and men stationed in Nagaland currently need not preach peace and harmony in Nagaland.

If neutrality is being observed by the AR, why was Naga Army forcefully evicted from Athibung Designated Camp and allowed K group to send in arms and men from Kohima, Dimapur as well as from Manipur for reinforcement? GPRN/NSCN demands neutrality and status-quo in action and not in words.

There are other groups who are operating all over Nagaland and beyond, within and outside the ambit of Ceasefire, indulging in unauthorised possession and transportation of Arms, why is GPRN/NSCN solely being targeted?

If there exists a MHA directive to prevent entry and exit of GPRN/NSCN officials from designated camps it is out rightly rejected. Movement of vehicles to and from designated camps should not be restricted. The prerogative is to communicate to the CFSB. Unilateral action shall not be accepted as it is a violation of CFGR. Assam Rifles need not teach GPRN/NSCN on CF ground rules as it is keenly observed by every member.

MHA is aware that since IGAR (N) holds the office of officiating CFSB, between GOI and NSCN. The establishment must be directed to co-ordinate with the conflicting parties in any situation rather that acting solely on the information received from subordinate officers.
