Kohima, September 12 (MExN): The Nagaland Land Revenue Department (LRD), citing considerable loss of land over the years, has directed all the all government departments/agencies in possession of land to obtain Land Patta within 6 (six) month.
In an office memorandum (OM), the LRD noted that during the past few years, instances of encroachment of lands held by various government departments/agencies have been increasing.
Further, the memorandum noted that the numerous instructions have been issued from time to time for proper management, maintenance and security of government lands, according to a DIPR report.
In this regard, the LRD directed that possession of Land Patta within a period of 6 (six) month from the OM, it said.
A copy of countersigned Survey Map should also be held in the records of the department/agencies, it added.
The concerned departments or agencies are also advised to secure lands from possible encroachment by way of construction of security fencing/boundary walls.
Follow up and observance of instructions contained in the OM will be reviewed after lapse of the stipulated period, i.e. six months.
