
Kohima, September 15 (MExN): With the aim of educating students on various topics such as cyber security, Internet of Things, pavement recycling and entrepreneurship, Government Polytechnic Kohima (GPK), in association with the Indian Society of Technical Education (ISTE) organised a webinars series from September 6-8.
Themed ‘Igniting Young Minds,’ the series featured assorted resource persons from different professional fields, a press release from the GPK Principal Er Keyiekhru Rhutso informed.
The resource persons were Er A Morimenba Amer, Deputy Director,NIELIT; Er Shanchamo Yanthan, Assistant Professor, School of Engineering and Technology, Nagaland University; Er Teakum Ao, Lecturer, Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu (KPA); Tali Longchar, Joint Director, MSME-DI; and Selwin Samraj, Assistant Director, MSME-DI, Dimapur.
In the inaugural session, Tiakaba Amer, Officer on Special Duty, Directorate of Technical Education while lauding the initiative expressed hope that it would help the institute in acquiring accreditation by National Board of Accreditation, the release said.
Er Abeno Odyuo, Lecturer, Department of Computer Science and Engineering highlighted the advantages of becoming an Institutional Member of ISTE and the setting up of a students’ chapter at GPK.
The faculty of GPK moderated the sessions and collected feedback from the participants based on which future seminars would be conducted, it added.
