GPRN/NSCN clarifies on March 27, 2012 incident

DIMAPUR, MARCH 31 (MExN): Clarifying on the news report “3 UG Cadres killed” which was published in a leading daily of Nagaland on March 28, 2012 wherein it was stated that 9 to 10 cadres reportedly went to collect tax, a press note from the GPRN/NSCN informed and clarified that there were only four of them. They included one Captain, two Razuo Peyus and one civilian, and not as reported. The cadres were assigned by the Regional Authority Officer of Lotha Region to inquire if approval had been acquired from the land owner and GPRN authorities to collect sand gravels from the Doyang River, the press note from the MIP stated.

The 27th March incident where three Nagas were brutally stoned and hacked to death in cold blood at Liphayan-Koura area near Kherbari along Nagaland-Assam border under Bhandari sub-division of Wokha District by a mob of illegal immigrants was a ‘pre-planned’ action hatched by one Mian contractor Alauddin and should be condemned by all, the MIP note stated. “Killing a Naga in one’s own land by an illegal immigrant should seriously be pondered upon by all right thinking Nagas and appropriate course of actions taken up before it is too late”, it stated.

“We cannot possibly allow illegal immigrants who lives in our soil, breathes our air and drinks our water roam about acting on their whims and fancies. No matter which tribe the deceased belonged to, this kind of senseless and brutal actions meted upon them under the order of one mere illegal immigrant needs condemnation from every Naga. We cannot afford to withstand such kind of humiliation. Our silence on this act would show that we have cowered down to the prerogative of the illegal immigrants”, the MIP note stated.

Stating that the “inherent brotherly relationship, which has been dearly preserved by both the Ahoms and Naga brothers, cannot be hampered by illegal immigrants come what may”, the MIP note also urged the “Ahom brothers living in the Borders” not to allow illegal immigrants to settle in the (DAB) disturbed area belt and a sincere appeal is made to the authorities to scrutinise them lest they start taking advantage like the March 27th incident and take the laws into their own hands.

“These parasites should not be permitted to shake the century old relationship between the two states. And the March 27th incident should open our eyes, and we should collectively sort out the illegal immigrants’ problem and thereby strengthen and forge our relationship further”, it stated.

Meanwhile, the GPRN/NSCN condoled the death of the three Members, Captain Mhabemo Jami, Razu Peyu Chumthungo Kikon and Razu Peyu Thungchamo Lotha who were brutally murdered by the Alien enforcing agencies while undertaking the duties assigned to them by the government. “The deeds performed by them for the national cause will forever be cherished in the annals of Naga history. We pray for the bereaved families, and may God give you his grace and strength during your time of mourning”, it stated.
