On 9th June 2009, IM Hd. Chaplain Shem Jajo ordered the Nagas to undertake a 5 day prayer fasting to prepare themselves for new Nagalim. On 15th June, all local dailies flashed the declaration of Chairman SS Khaplang, Isak Chishi Swu and Brig. Shingya, pledging to strive for unity and reconciliation of the Nagas. Despite these lofty appeals, IM has murdered another Naga. The latest victim of IM’s mercilessness is the abduction and killing of GPRN/NSCN Leacy Mazu Pfithu Pochury of Yisi Village under Tissary Region. He was abducted at Meluri on 30th June and murdered on 1st July 2009. In the name of unity and reconciliation should Nagas ignore merciless killings? What future does Nagas hope from a despotic gang who knows only how to peel off Naga skin and crush naga bones? The mortal remains of Kusheta Rakho Chakhesang who was abducted and killed on 26th April is yet to be returned to the family. According to eyewitnesses, prior to succumbing to injuries he was unrecognizable owing to hours of torture. His two friends survived the most brutal and torturous days in the custody of IM. Their nails were all pulled out of their fingers and nipples cut and chests scarred with cigarette butts. The kicks and punches rained on the helpless victims as the captors enacted wrestling moves with little sympathy for the victims. Visible scars and internal injuries are reported to be serious. Horrific treatment of detainees resembles the brutality of the Nazis under Hitler. Heinous crimes against the Nagas will never take IM to their so-called new Nagalim.
GPRN/NSCN equally understands IM’s subversive and provocative policies aiming to create further rift within the Naga family. GPRN/NSCN believes that Naga people have measured the deep chasm between patience and violence; unity and vanity; reconciliation and manipulation. Naga people have learned the difference between humane approaches to solving family problems as opposed to inhuman barbarity enforced at Hebron Camp. Perhaps, it is best illustrated by the brutal murder of an SDO and his two subordinates in Manipur some months ago. The murderers of Atovi Yepthomi, an aspiring businessman on 25th January 2009, are yet to be punished. The torture and killing of Tsenchithung Yanthan by IM on April 24th 2009 clearly points to a sadistic approach of the killers. The brutal murder of a 72 years old Tangkhul senior citizen J Kathing, for speaking his mind has horrified Naga intelligentsia at home and abroad. The abduction and murder of Angami Region chairman Kevingulie Yiesie on May 23, 2009 adhered little to the process of Unity and Reconciliation of the Nagas.
The omnipresent God, the architect of this world, knows which leader is for the Nagas and who is not. He knows who engineered or are engineering tragic events and incidents in tiny Nagaland. Unity and Reconciliation in letter and spirit will solely serve the purpose. The rest is antithesis!
