Heads of sec schools acquainted with management of schools

Kohima, March 9 (MExN): A meeting of the newly appointed heads of secondary and higher secondary institutions was held on March 7 in the conference hall of the Nagaland Board of School Education, Kohima.  

The purpose was to acquaint them with the management of schools and the various activities of the Board for over-all improvement of the educational system of the state. The meeting was attended by heads of institutions representing 82 schools.  

The meeting began with prayer by Vihuto Sümi, Principal, Emmanuel Hr. Sec. School, Zunheboto. The programme was chaired by the Controller of Examinations, Rangumbuing Nsarangbe, who on behalf of the Chairman, NBSE welcomed the participants and also convey regret on behalf of the Chairman Asano Sekhose, her inability to be with them.  

The participants were first briefed about the different activities/programmes of the Board by the officials. Iluheing Nsarangbe, Sr. Academic Officer dwelt on the academic matters related to the Board and the important role of the schools in incorporating the co-curricular activities in the school plan.  

Kekhrielhoutuo Nakhro, Coordinator (IT) highlighted on the features on Board’s website and emphasised on the use of net facilities and encouraged the school’s to have its own email i.d. for easy communication. He also demonstrated on the use of the new software developed for online submission of forms.

Ekyimo Shitiri, Deputy Secretary (Accounts) dwelt on the accounts and financial matters relating to the school. He emphasised on prompt respond from the schools and encourages them to go for cashless transactions.  

Rangumbuing Nsarangbe, Controller of Examinations dwelt on the examination reforms adopted by the Board and proper conducting of examinations. He also reminded the participants that as the Head, one should be a role model, an agent of change and reminded them of the trust placed on them. He urged the heads to encourage their teachers to undertake professional studies and also to the proper infrastructure setup of the schools.
