Nagaland’s social welfare advisor Wangpang Konyak today flagged off a new toy train at Highland Park Kohima in the presence Limawabang Jamir, secretary social welfare and Tosheli Zhimomi, director, Department of Social Welfare, Nagaland.
Addressing the inaugural and flagging off programme, Wangpang mooted an idea of creating a space for senior citizens at Highland Park so that they can also have recreational activities.
“We can also have a space for senior citizens here,” he said.
He called upon the public to take care of the asset being created by the government to ensure the government property serves its purpose.
“It is our duty to take care of the government property and own the ownership with responsibility,” he told the users.
Meanwhile, the advisor thanked two well wishers (businessmen) from Dimapur for sponsoring the toy train through the initiative taken Tosheli.
Tosheli informed that Highland Park was established by the Department of Social Welfare in 2005.
She said that the toy train is designed for capacity 25 children or 16 adults.
This Highland Toy train will operate only on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Ticket will cost Rs. 50 per person.
The director said that two more facilities have been added to Highland Park, Trampoline and Merry- Go- Round for 10 and 12 children capacity respectively.
Earlier NLA chaplain Rev. Izieteilung Terieng pronounced dedicatory prayer while vote of thanks was proposed by K. Wango Langsym, Deputy Director, Department of Social Welfare, Nagaland.
