Zeme Council Nagaland condemns
Peren, November 22 (MExN): Less than 24 hours after the laying of a boundary stone demarcating the boundary between Peren and Beisumpui villages, the same was found to have been demolished and crushed into pieces the very same night on November 15.
The Zeme Council Nagaland while informing this in a press release also issued strong condemnation over the demolition stating that the act was a “heinous crime tantamount to directly challenging the whole Zeme community.”
It may be recalled here that the boundary stone was erected at N-gungreu (River) in the presence of ADC Peren and Zeliang and Kuki public leaders with proper ceremony and appreciated by both the communities.
The laying of the boundary stone was erected 38 years after the signing of an Agreement (July 4, 1979) between the two communities.
