In view of the difficulties faced by consumers during the current COVID-19 lockdown, the concerned district authorities in Kohima and Mon districts have given permission to certain entities to for home delivery of essential items.

In Kohima, the Kohima Municipal Council has given permission to four such entities to deliver essential goods to households in the city.

KMC

The home deliveries are to be carried out following proper hygiene and sanitization protocols such as Zero Contact with customer, use and changing of gloves after delivery, use of mask and sanitization of products.

 Delivery rates should not exceed more than Rs50 (within Kohima Municipal jurisdiction) during the lockdown period.

MON:

Mon

Meanwhile, the Mon district administration and the Mon Town Council in collaboration with Naga Logistics will be starting home delivery services of essential commodities and medicines at a charge of Rs 10 per delivery to any location within Mon Town. ]

 

A press release from the Mon DC stated that an amount of Rs 10 will be charged for packages weighing more than 10 kgs.

Limit of purchase in Mon

The Mon DC has also imposed a limit for the purchase of essential commodities in Mon with effect from March 27.

Maximum permissible quantity per day.

Rice: 10kg per family

Dal: 1 kg per family

Oil: 1 litre per family

Milk powder: 1kg per family

Sugar: 1 kg per family

Tea leaves: 1 kg per family

 

All the shopkeepers have been asked to strictly comply with the above mentioned regulations. Any person/group in violation of this order shall be deemed to have committed an offence punishable under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code.
