The ICAR–National Research Centre on Mithun, Medziphema, in collaboration with the Department of Industries & Commerce conducted a two-day training programme on Meat Processing from June 24-25.

MEDZIPHEMA, JUNE 25 (MExN): The ICAR–National Research Centre on Mithun, Medziphema, in collaboration with the Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Nagaland, successfully conducted a two-day training programme titled “Technology Clinic on Meat Processing: Enhancing Meat Processing Efficiency Through Technology” from June 24 to 25.
The training was organised under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme.
The inaugural session was attended by Dr Girish Patil S, Director of ICAR-NRC on Mithun, and Keneirienuo T Zatsu, Deputy Director, Department of Industries & Commerce and Nodal Officer of the RAMP scheme.
A total of 27 entrepreneurs from five districts of Nagaland participated in the hands-on training sessions, which focused on the preparation of condiments, ingredients, seasonings, and binders for value-added Mithun meat products. Special emphasis was laid on developing Mithun-based nuggets, sausages, and patties.
As part of an exposure visit, participants visited the Life Ministry Learning Centre, an NGO working with the institute on meat processing initiatives. They also toured the Mithun Farm at the Medziphema campus to gain practical insights into Mithun rearing and management.
The institute extended best wishes to all participants in their future ventures in the meat processing sector.
