NLA Speaker urges FMSCI to nurture local talent

During the inaugural programme of the two-day Indian National Autocross Championship (INAC) hosted by the Adventure and Motorsport Association of Mokokchung (AMAM), in collaboration with the Bangalore Motor Sports under the aegis of FMSCI at Rempukong, Ungma village, Mokokchung, Sharingain Longkumer, Speaker, Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA), urged the Indian Federation of Motorsports Council India (FMSCI) to nurture local talents while stating that that there is no shortage of talents in Nagaland when it comes to sports.

Shairngain Longkumer said that events like the autocross offer a glimpse of the possibilities that will eventually materialise in the years to come and reminded the gathering that the location has been chosen for the installation of an astroturf football ground.

Although the low population in urban areas of Mokokchung district is one of the reasons that stands as an obstacle in fulfilling the aspirations of the people in many respect, an event of this magnitude

is very important for the people as this place has been earmarked to become the sports destination in Mokokchung, he said.

President, AMAM, Moasashi Jamir expressed his hope that the event will helps in fostering friendships and unity among the motorsports enthusiast and said that AMAN is privileged to be the host of the INAC East Zone 2022. He also thanked the INAC, Bangalore Motorsports Association and FMSCI for coming to a remote and interior place like Mokokchung.

While AMAM has organised several motorcross events in the past, this is the first national championships for the association. Around 50 participants are taking part at the 2-day champions with 7 participants from outside Nagaland.

The first day of the event witnessed the INAC events in various categories. On the second day the 6th edition of AMAM AutoX will kick start at 9.00 am.
