Dimapur, May 19 (MExN): Sedevinu Sale and Emtili Aier have successfully completed the Sakura Exchange Programme for Science under the Sakura Science High School Programme (SSHP) from April 17 to 23, informed a press release from Khrietuo Mezhur, Director, SCERT, Nagaland.
Sedevinu Sale of Christian Higher Secondary School, Dimapur and Emtili Aier of North Field, Kohima were the toppers of INSPIRE Science Exhibition and Project Competition for the year 2013 and 2014 conducted by SCERT, Nagaland.
The Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India had organised the exchange programme along with the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Tokyo with an aim to foster, nurture and encourage the young scientists in four Asian countries, namely India, Bangladesh, Philippines and Indonesia.
Sharing her experience, Sedevinu Sale said, “We not only filled ourselves with awe and amazement, but also got so much of inspiration and motivation by the advanced technology used there (Tokyo) as our daily life. We visited a number of prestigious world leading universities in the field of technology, medicine, astronomy etc, which encouraged us to learn more of the other technology in use as well as the other department of Science. We also visited several educational science museums.”
Meanwhile, Emtili Aier expressed hope that in the near future, children from Nagaland will be able to study and work in Japan as well. “I also would like to make an appeal to the School authorities to take the INSPIRE Science Exhibition and Project Competition seriously as it’s only through this means that we are able to help our children gain vast experience.”
