Some of those who voted YES had this to say:
• For this, not only DAN Govt. has to be blamed, but Congress too. For decades power issue crippled our state yet the Govt. (then and now) tried to tackle it. And it'll go on for decades more. Down with dem-o-cracy!
• They don't know poor people’s condition.
• In what sector of public interest is the Nagaland government concerned? Apart from the deplorable supply of power, just take a look at the private water pipelines in Kohima. Look at the drainage conditions in all the major towns. Look at the road condition all over Nagaland. The government is not at all concerned even about the basic needs of the citizens. What then can we expect from the government? All the big talks by our esteem leaders account to nothing. It is simply pathetic!
• Because they are simply making baseless statement. They doing nothing to improve the power crises that people are facing.
• Yes, they try their best to fool public by saying all sorts of lame excuses telling because of this and that, that and this. Knowing the fact public are not in a position to say since it is a well known fact that we all are now living under the barrel of gun. who dare to say nagaland wealth is enjoyed by 30% of the society and we all who are those 30%.
• Yes, some districts in india consumes more power in one day than nagaland does in 1 week. Government should be very serious about electrical energy. Employ the best electrical engineers as soon as possible. doyang and likimro can feed kohima and dimapur. all we need is proper govt. funds and best electrical engineers and equipments. i dont wanna hear about an old transformer exploding for gods sake. A small state like ours deserve at least 15 hours of regular power supply. If govt. cannot do that step down.
• Yes, has anyone noticed why the road/electricity etc end at nagaland gate? while assam has it all.
• Lets be blatantly direct and honest in sharing our views. It is-and it will always be. These concerned designated portfolio holders are engrossed amassing/regenerating money which they have invested to buy votes in the last election.
• Yes, look it to our state condition the oldest state and not only electricity but road and water problems still continuing, in that case would like to appreciate Mizoram Government..our MLA, Minister and bureaucrats should go to Mizoram for the Exposure Trip. Rather than expending huge money on Thailand, Indonesia, would also like to encourage our young leaders to have a visit our own north east sister state Mizoram and learn something.
• Yes, the government of Nagaland is completely indifferent. Unless the public rises up and raise our voice together they will remain indifferent. This is also the reason why the government tries to keep dividing the Naga public through all these different organizations and colony councils. Basically it is to keep the public in check and to see that our silence continues. The Nagaland government should actually be taking this opportunity to work for the Naga public, but they don’t seem to care at all.
• Yes, yes, yes, Nagaland government is indifferent to the public suffering caused by the power supply crisis. Our ministers have made many promises for development but never fulfilled, and they blamed the public. They are never concerned and bother about public suffering.
• Yes, We need proper power supply system. Govt. should put up electrical headquarters at every district. Look for alternative source of energy.
Some of those who voted NO had this to say:
• No matter how BAD the DAN/NPF govt is in terms of governance in most issues, i genuinely feel it rolled up its sleeve on this crisis and continue to be on its toes.. The answer is NO, the govt is and was concerned about the power crisis as such the little improvement we are experiencing.
• The power department seems to have acted quite fast. For a few days the power situation seems to have improved for a while. But alas, we seem to be going back to the powerless days. We can however say that the power department is concerned and not indifferent like their political masters. We hope the power department will continue to care for the public.
• The power parliamentary secretary is very concerned and is doing his best to bring electricity to Nagaland.
• No, the DAN government is a peoples government and is doing all that it can. The power crisis is a national problem which is not confined to Nagaland alone.
• The Nagaland government does not simply care at all. They seem not to be concerned by the people’s plight. But at least the power department officials seem to be genuinely concerned. I know for certain that the power officials have been working round the clock, but their hands are tied as well and I don’t think they can do much anyway. But at least their good intention is there.
Some of those who voted OTHERS had this to say:
• An adequate and regular supply of power is a must for over all progress and holistic development of a modern society as it is, undoubtedly the lifeblood of all human activities in pursuit of scaling greater heights and advancement on every sphere of life in this ever-changing world. In this current scenario, none of my fellow rational Nagas would hopefully disagree with me on this never ever-better off state of affairs where a sign of the times vividly implies how dismal the present reality on the grounds. It is nothing but ludicrous for any respected Naga political or civil leader to impress on the Naga society the need of embracing changes sans addressing the crux of the matter. The bottom line is: the power department needs an injection of systematic revamping with augmentation of new firm and innovative policy for providing to ensure the mother of all essential services to its daily suffering general public in the state.
• Folks, lets not get in a rage so easily for the power sickness. You know this delicious local smoked pork neta babus cost more than us and why would the suffering folks such as us expect them to consign “one” which is costlier than them. Thank you Mr Minister, we are and will always be behind schedule, oh, man-what do we do so. Yeah, I have figured out.. Let us all cry in our napkins and say to them Grand daddy, you are spoiling kindergarten fun.
• I suppose we can say the present power crisis has been checked to a certain level (though minimum) because we're atleast getting more than what we were getting a few days ago, when heaps of complaints were lodged with the dept. The crisis must however, be taken at a higher level in order to maximize the availability of power for consumers at any given time.
• Heard it is not only confined to a state but rather a national problem yet its their responsibility to take effective initiative....to solve this stretchable power problem once & for all. Too much
