Kohima, April 3 (MExN): On receiving information of jungle fire at Nagaland University Campus, Meriema, Kohima on April 2, Fire & Emergency Services mobilised a quick response team from Fire Station Kohima North under the command of ASI Neitho-u Keditsu. Few acres stretch of forest was destroyed by the fire.
The Nagaland Fire & Emergency Services in a press release stated that the cause of the fire is not known.
In another incident on April 2, on receiving information of jungle fire at WTC Garbage Dumping area, Merapani Road, Wokha, Fire & Emergency Services mobilised a quick response team from Fire Station Wokha, pressed two WTPs into action under the commander ASI Bentik Konyak and SI Keleseho S Tsükrü. The fire incident occurred due to Garbage burning at the dumping site which spread further to the adjoining forest/jungle.
In both the incidents, due to timely response from fire team averted any eventuality and brought the fire under control and also from further spreading to the adjoining forest and villages. “There was no casualty,” the release added.
