Nagaland holds Manipur to a 4-4 draw

Nagaland today held Manipur to a 4-4 draw in its third match at the ongoing Junior Boys National Football Championship 2024-25 (Dr. B.C Trophy) at Nagaon, Assam. Nagaland took the lead with 4-3 until the last 3 minute added time.

Manipur with just few seconds before the final whistle equalized it.

“Our boys technically and tactically showed no difference against the football producing state (Manipur) of our country,” the management team stated adding “We dominated the game throughout the 90 minutes but it was just the luck that does not allow us to win the game.”

Moamanen netted the first goal for Nagaland in the 26th minute. Napan increased the scored tally in the 48th minute through a penalty.

Ayhunlo and Viselie Vasa also contributed a goal each in the 61st and 77th minute respectively. So far, Nagaland played 3 matches, won 1 match and 2 draw match. Nagaland’s will next face Andaman & Nicobar on August 5.
