Dimapur, September 8 (MExN): The President of Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) K Therie met with the President of All India Congress Committee (AICC) Sonia Gandhi and apprised her on the “recent developments” in the Naga political issue. This was informed in a press release issued by K Therie President, NPCC.
Therie stated that in the meeting he informed Gandhi that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is “desirous of resolving the political problem within three months.”
“It also appears GOI has made known their mind to negotiating teams and the 3 months time is given for consideration,” he said.
He asserted that he conveyed that Nagas are “equally desirous of early solution and of the State Congress’ willingness to support the solution.” "She was also apprised that “what people want, in addition to what we have today are peace, development and opportunities,” Therie said.
He further stated that the AICC president gave a patient hearing and showed her “deep concern for the issues.”
