Dimapur, November 22 (MExN): The Kuhuboto Ghakhu Public Organisation (KGPO) has reaffirmed an earlier resolution made in 2015-16 banning all illegal taxation under KGPO jurisdiction.
A resolution to uphold the ban was taken during a meeting of the KGPO along with its frontal organizations, Head GBs, GB Council Chairmen and Council Secretaries and VDB Secretaries at Suhoi Village on November 6.
“The meeting resolved to stop all sort of illegal taxation by all Naga Political Groups (NPGs) under Kuhuboto jurisdiction with immediate effect of this press release,” a statement from the KGPO maintained. The statement was appended by Head GBs of 23 villages under the KGPO jurisdiction and Head GB of Kuhuboto town.
In this connection, the KGPO appealed all Naga Political Groups to advise their cadres to refrain from illegal activities with immediate effect. “Failing to abide with this resolution the KGPO will take its own course of action as deem fit,” the KGPO warned.
Meanwhile, the house also resolved to put a stop on the plying of commercial vehicles – both medium and heavy – in Kuhuboto jurisdiction on Sundays. “If any vehicle is found plying on the cited day, the KGPO will seize the vehicle and take action as per the law of the land,” it stated.
The KGPO also issued a word of caution to individuals transferring government officials in Kuhuboto sub-division “for their individual interest in conspiracy with Government”. “Anybody found in such activities, serious action will be imposed,” the KGPO warned.
