Kiphire district held its District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting today at the conference hall of the DPDB. The meeting was chaired by Vice Chairman and DC Mohammad Ali and was attended by L Khumo Advisor Fisheries & Aquatic Resources, Evaluation, Economics & Statistics.
For sustainability and improvement of fish farming in the state, Advisor L Khumo disclosed that each district will be having fish hatchery so that we decrease dependency on neighboring states like Assam for fingerlings.
Khumo also informed that the only village in the district not having water connectivity and depending on natural spring is Metonger village.
The advisor also informed members that administrative headquarter like Kiusum for all developmental activities is being neglected because of the constituency falling under Tuensang and administrative headquarter under Kiphire.
He also expressed that DPDB meeting is very important, for any developmental activities are initiated from here.
among other developmental projects, L Khumo also proposed various schemes on Veterinary, health and education which the DPDB has approved to higher authorities.
Vice Chairman and DC Kiphire Mohammad Ali who chaired the program appealed the members to extend all co-operation for the proposed cabinet meeting in the district. Expounding that there is no assignment that is big or small but equally important, the DC asked the members to sincerely take up the responsibility of making the programme a success.
District Sports officer (DSO) who also spoke on the issue of sports felt the need to improve sports infrastructure in the district as the district has nothing in the ground for the upcoming youngsters.
He also appealed the DPDB members to extend all possible help to upgrade the sports activities in the district.
