Kitsubozou Panchayat opens eight community toilets

Kohima, October 9 (MExN): In line with Swachh Bharat Mission (2019-20) to discourage open defecation, Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) office secretary, Zakiekhotuo Kiso inaugurated community toilet for residents of Sector-3 under Kitsubozou colony, Ward No. 5, Kohima on October 10. 

Speaking on the occasion, Kiso informed that the since the inception of SBM in March 24, 2015 till now under KMC, a total of around 3887 individual household toilet and 104 community toilet have been initiated, a press note received here stated.

Kiso said that SBM-I ended on September 30 while Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the second phase on October 2 last. He informed that KMC & Smart City will survey footpath and footsteps in the colonies/wards and also household census shortly. In this, he asked colony leaders to carefully cooperate with the surveyors and enumerators. Through household census benefits can be availed on various developmental projects, he said.

Kiso highlighted other activities and projects of Smart City and KMC towards improving the living condition of the municipal and town dwellers.

Kitsubozou Panchayat Chairman, Vimhalie Pienyu informed that the construction in March 2021 and completed on October 7 with financial aid under SBM 2019-20 from KMC and also the local populace. It will cater to the requirements of 60 households in the sector, he said. Pastor Vikhotsolie Üsou offered the dedicatory prayer.
