KLBC organizes music retreat in Zhunheboto

DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 14 (MExN): A one-day music retreat was organised by Khukiye Lukhayi Baptist Church (KLBC) Zunheboto with Aron Asumi, Director, Immanuel Music Academy as the resource person on February 12 at its chapel hall.

Aron Asumi, speaking during the retreat, stressed on the importance of music and said that music is a universal language. He added that music creates ambiance in any situation. It enhances ones emotions, imagination and memory and also gives pleasure.

Highlighting the job opportunities in the music industry, he informed that the Government of Nagaland is working to introduce music teachers in government schools. He also reminded that there are other job opportunities available in this field such as music producers, recording engineers, session musicians, artist managers and more.

He further stressed on the role of music in the Church stating that the “Bible itself contains over 400 music references and around 50 direct commands urging the believers to sing.”

He referred to Zephaniah 3:17 where “God himself sang and also how Jesus sang hymns with his disciples and added that Ephesians 5 tells us one of the fruits being filled with the spirit is singing.”

Earlier the programme was chaired and invocation pronounced by Aristo Aye, Music Director, Khukiye Lukhayi. The programme concluded with the benediction pronounced by the Pastor of Khukiye Lukhayi Baptist Church.
