Skill fest resource persons with Menuoneituo Chadi on October 21.

Kohima, October 23 (MExN): A three day long 4th Skill Fest 2022 organized by Oriental College, Kohima in collaboration with Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission (NSRLM) concluded on October 21 at the college auditorium.
The students displayed various items made during the Skill Fest, which commenced on October 19, under the guidance of the different resource persons.
Speaking at the valedictory function on October 21 as the guest of honour, Menuoneituo Chadi, Chief Operating Officer (COO) NSRLM) congratulated the authorities of Oriental College, Kohima for organising such a fest for college students.
He stressed the importance of earning a living even if one is unable to complete studies and to take up opportunities provided by NSLRM, linking trained young people with other countries.
He enlightened the students about being productive in utilizing the time that is given to them.
Noting that the world has witnessed a paradigm shift with the advancement in technology, he said that in order to survive in this competitive world, our present action determines our future. As such, he encouraged the students to be passionate, be focused, not to waste time, and to have the right attitude.
Government jobs are not the only sustainable job sector, so having the right outlook and attitude is important, he added.
Vice Principal of the College Kohima Dr Gopal Chetri stated that the success of the skill development and entrepreneurship programme was because of the concerted effort of the College Authorities, NSRLM, resource persons, teaching faculty as well as the participation of the students.
One should prepare, explore where we are best suited and accordingly adapt oneself, he said.
Topics covered by different resource persons at the programme included; Electrical Fitting-Bendang Yanger; Bridge Point Skills & Network Pvt Ltd (DDU-GKY), Alder College; Baking-Peleneinuo and Lovitoli Zhimo of Domain trainer, Initiative For Social Development and Educational Society, Dimapur; Masonry-Rongsenpogba Ao, Global Peers, Dimapur; Beauty and Wellness- Kimiyetoli, Pinnacle Skills-Dimapur; Solar Paneling- Bendangmeren, Bridge Point Skills & Network Pvt Ltd (DDU-GKY), Alder College; Flower Arrangement- Gugu, entrepreneur Kohima; Pickle Making-Asenla Longkumer & Lembisang Jamir, DESHEN-Kohima; Plumbering- Lilamo Ovung, Global Peers, Dimapur; Basket Weaving- Ketouneinuo Khro, Chaplain, OCK-Self Enterprise; and Embroidery- Mengubeinuo & Dziesebeinuo of Sisters’ Yarn- Kohima.
The valedictory programme was chaired by Vizotuo Thorie, Assistant Professor Department of Commerce while vote of thanks was proposed by Nzanbeni Kikon, Assistant Professor Department of Economics, Oriental College, Kohima.
