The 6th Edition of the Women’s Basketball Tournament will be held from October 9-11 at St Mary’s Cathedral Higher Secondary School, Kohima.
Making this announcement at a press conference today, organizers of the event, Vision Trinity member Nunese Sale said that this year’s theme is “Start Unknown, finish Unforgettable.”
Started back in 2018, the organizers said this year too, encouraging prizes along with cash has been arranged for winners.
The organizers, while encouraging groups to come and participate at the women tournament, informed that the entry fee is Rs 3500.
The first prize is Rs 35000 and 2nd prize Rs 20000. Most valued player (MVP) will win Rs 5000. Other awards include, Lt. Vikeduo-ü Memorial Award for most promising player which has a cash prize of Rs 5000, best disciplined team Rs 3000 and best team jersey Rs 3000.
The organizers said while the registration is now open, it will be on first come basis.
In this regard, registration will be closed as soon as 13 team slots are filled. Apart from that, the tournament will be played on league matches.
To promote women sports and promote empowerment, the organizers hoped that the response will improve both in terms of financial sponsorship, participation and interest of audience.
