Kohima, October 16 (MExN): Kohima College celebrated its annual autumn carnival on October 15. The event was jointly organised by Skill Development Cell and Students Welfare Committee of the college. Minister for Higher Education and Tourism, Temjen Imna Along graced the event with his presence.

A press note received here stated that the carnival's centerpiece was the ‘Contributed Items Stall’ where faculty, staff, and students generously donated a variety of items available at nominal prices. The proceeds from this stall will bolster the ‘Need-Based Grant-in-Aid’ fund, supporting students from underprivileged backgrounds in their pursuit of education.

Kethosenuo Kesiezie, Chairperson of the event, stressed the importance of community and the college's commitment to helping students overcome financial barriers to education.

Established as the ‘Poor Students Fund’ in 2017 with an initial contribution of Rs 10000 from the then-Governor PB Acharya, this initiative has evolved into a critical resource for underprivileged students at Kohima College, the release stated.
