Kohima, Dimapur press clubs mourn

Kohima, November 14 (MExN): The members of Kohima Press Club (KPC) on Tuesday said that they are deeply saddened by the demise of Aneile Kenye (1964-2023), wife of Oken Jeet Sandham, senior journalist and member of KPC Advisory Board on November 14. 

KPC in a condolence message stated that Aneile was diagnosed with brain tumor (meningioma) in June 2009 and following an 11-hour surgery, she subsequently slipped into a coma in the later part of August 2009. She was bedridden for 14 years, out of which she spent 11 years in the Intensive Care Unit at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima and the remaining years at home till she breathed her last. 

“She was a great fighter and we also deeply admire the dedication with which her family took care of her all these years,” KPC stated. 

“As the members of the bereaved family face the loss and grief, we stand with them in solidarity and it is our sincere prayer that they will find comfort in her memories. May her soul rest in peace!” the Club conveyed in solidarity. 

The Dimapur Press Club (DPC) has also mourned the passing of Aneile Kenye, wife of senior journalist and member of Kohima Press Club (KPC) Advisory Board Oken Jeet Sandham. She breathed her last on Tuesday, November 14. 

The DPC extended heartfelt condolences to Sandham and his family during this difficult time and stands with them in their grief. “Kenye’s legacy and memory will live on through those whose lives she touched. May her soul rest in peace!” DPC added.
