The Kohima District Football Association (KDFA) today organised a felicitation programme for its senior vice president Roko Angami on his appointment as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) (Sports) under the Department of Youth Resources & Sports, Nagaland.
In a programme held at 2K Hotel Kohima, Roko thanked Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for his appointment and KDFA for honouring him.
“I am immensely thankful for this opportunity and I shall give my best with sincerity and dedication,” he said. He also looks forward to delegate his service to the best of his ability to foster, promote and uplift sports with special emphasis to football in the state.
He also assured to endeavour with utmost sincerity for the furtherance and welfare of the sports community. “I will also collectively endeavor with you all, with concerted efforts to create a robust and adept football community in particular and a sound sporting fraternity across the state. I sincerely look forward to your innovative suggestions and guidance,” he added. Together let us strive to improve and uplift sports across the state, he added.
Nagaland Football Association (NFA) President K Neibou Sekhose also congratulated Roko on his new assignment. “Your determination, hard work, perseverance, unwavering commitment have truly paid off. This moment of triumph is a testament to your resilience and determination. Your appointment is delight to NFA and footballers as a whole,” Sekhose said. He also thanked the state government for appointing Roko as OSD to uplift the football in the state.
Mhasimhalie Mathew Yhome, president of KDFA praised Roko for his valuable contribution towards the society in various fields. Meanwhile, he requested the state government to bring out good sports policy for sports persons in Nagaland.
