Kumlong Youth Association to organize 2nd Inter-Ward volleyball Tournament

Mokokchung, July 7 (MExN): The Kumlong Youth Association (KYA), Mokokchung under the aegis of Kumlong ward Yimden will be organizing the 2nd Inter-ward volleyball Tournament from July 9 to 11 at Multipurpose sports Complex, Mokokchung.  

The tournament will be held under the theme ‘Forging Champions,’ informed Dr Imlinichet Imchen, Convenor of the tournament, at a press conference called on July 6 at Hotel Metsuben, Mokokchung Town.

The Convenor also informed that the champions of the tournament will be awarded a running trophy, a cash prize of Rs 30,000 and a certificate; the runner-up will receive a cash prize of Rs 20,000; and individual prizes of Rs 2000 will be awarded to the best setter, best spiker, and player of the tournament.

During the press conference, Dr Imlinichet Imchen mentioned that the aim of the tournament is to promote, identify, and encourage hidden talents at the grassroots level. The KYA meanwhile stated, “The uniqueness of the tournament will be its focus on providing a platform for enthusiastic amateur volleyball athletes residing in the 18 wards of Mokokchung town.”
