Nagaland CAWD & Taxes Advisor, Küdecho Khamo expressed concern over the land ownership and land encroachment issue in the state, which, he said, has become a stumbling block for developmental activities. He asked the people not to misuse the Article 371 (A), but use it for other political rights which provide constitutional guarantees.

Addressing the inaugural function for the additional classrooms of Government High School Japan Riba, Chozuba in Phek district, Khamo urged the landowners across the state to rethink of the past when land were given or sold for developmental activities with understanding.

Khamo said that when the present generation takes back or do encroachment, “it is legally illegal, morally unethical, traditionally a curse and a forbidden thing.”

The additional classrooms have been constructed under Samagra Shiksha Nagaland.

‘Proxy teachers should not be allowed’
Proxy teachers should not be allowed under 18th Chozuba Assembly constituency, he said. He urged the Village Councils and Village Education Committees (VECs) not to allow proxy teachers.
