Patkai, March 17 (MExN): The Career Guidance & Placement Cell of Patkai Christian College (Autonomous) organised its annual Career Guidance event themed, 'Leap Forward’ on March 16 with the objective of equipping students with insights and opportunities for their future endeavours.
Addressing the opening ceremony at the College’s National Service Scheme Park, PCC (A) Principal Dr Thepfüvilie Pierü welcomed the attendees and expressed gratitude to participating organisations for engaging with students and contributing to their professional growth.
Wetshete Joseph Thopi, Dean of Students PCC (A) gave an overview of Career Guidance 2024, emphasising on the importance of the event in connecting students with potential employers.
He encouraged students to seize the opportunities presented and wished them success in their future endeavours.
The event saw the participation of 15 institutes and recruiters, providing students with a diverse range of opportunities.
Participating institutes and recruiters included: Mentor Academy, Emporium Skills Training Institute, YRG Care, Army Recruiting Office, Kaziranga University, and Consulate of the United States of America, Addon Consultancy Services, The Entrepreneurs Associates, H&A India Pvt Ltd, Oriental Theology Seminary, Trinity Theological College, ARTSY, Talent Acquaintance, Insight, and Excellent Coaching.

IIE & NU & Patkai collaborate to explore world of entrepreneurship
The Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), Guwahati, in collaboration with the Department of Commerce, Patkai Christian College (Autonomous), and the Department of Management, Nagaland University, conducted a one-day Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme on March 16.
Dr Ditalak Mpanme from the NU’s Department of Management served as the resource person for the programme, aimed at encouraging students to explore the world of entrepreneurship and motivating them to start their own businesses.
Additionally, it aimed to encourage participants to think outside the box and ignite their entrepreneurial spirit, recognizing that certain talents and skills cannot be embraced in conventional classrooms but through such entrepreneurship programs, according to a press release from PCC-A.
In the first session, Dr Mpanme sensitised the students about the importance of entrepreneurial pursuits, emphasising the need to not rely solely on government jobs and encouraging them to explore business avenues in various fields using locally available resources.
Key qualities needed to be a successful entrepreneur were also discussed, accompanied by relevant examples in the interactive first session.
The second session involved students interacting with Sapulu Krocha, IIE State Coordinator, where various queries relating to issues and challenges in startups, government support, business management, etc., were discussed.
The programme concluded with positive feedback, with some participants expressing interest and intention to explore entrepreneurship as a career, added the release.
