DIMAPUR, April 1 (MExN): The Phom Baptist Christian Association (PBCA), Nyengching, Longleng headquarters today appreciated the Phom local Churches for complying with the norms and guidelines of the lockdown being ordered by government in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Social distancing is one of the best preventive measures to save yourself and to protect your community from the rampant pandemic, but it does not mean distancing your heart from God. Let our heart search for God even during this lockdown period,” a press release from the PBCA stated.
It further pointed out that the “door of the Church is always kept open for personal prayer, not for mass and group prayers.”
It meanwhile informed that on March 29 some few people turned up on Sunday morning worship on March 29. “However, they were requested to maintain individual distance, and offered prayer and sent them back with more awareness on COVID-19. PBCA is well aware of do’s and don’ts of COVID-19,” it stated.
The PBCA encouraged people to “let our heart be a Church, let our heart be a ‘Heart of Worship’ throughout this lockdown period and always as Christians.”
It further appreciated local churches for strictly maintaining family prayer every night from 7:00pm onwards. Since March 24, the Church bell rings at 7:00 PM sharp every night in all the churches under PBCA to have a family prayer, it informed.
It also appreciated all the frontline healthcare workers, administrative and police personnel for their services.
