Longleng, September 18 (MExN): St. Joseph School, Longleng organised two-day literary competition on September 16 and 17 with Temsusenla Jamir, SDEO Longleng as the chief guest.
Speaking to the students, Temsusenla stressed on the need to be in the first place and be aware of themselves. The school provides an ample opportunity for developing the God’s given gifts and talents, she stated. She further emphasised on the need to be aware and be educated on the “social evil” of the 21st century like cell phone, Facebook, internet etc.
She also reminded the students to fear God because “God is the beginning of knowledge.” The SDEO further encouraged the students to work hard and be a beacon of light in Longleng district as the school has the highest enrolment in the district. She also exhorted the teachers to rededicate as they impart knowledge to the students who are the future of tomorrow.
The day began with a prayer led by Sr. Melody and words of welcome by Fr. Charles Phom. The competitions comprised of group song, solo, debate, drawing, essay writing, dance, extempore speech, multiplication table, poem recitation, talent show etc.
