Out of 169 recommended villages, only 26 on-boarded

A one-day PM-Vishwakarma mela was conducted at the Multipurpose Hall in Zunheboto Town on February 24. The programme was chaired by EAC L Chinglem Konyak, with the main objective of raising awareness and discussing the various benefits of the PM-Vishwakarma scheme.
In the welcome address, Rahul Bhanudas Mali, Deputy Commissioner of Zunheboto emphasised the importance and potential benefits of the PM-Vishwakarma scheme. The DC Zunheboto expressed his concern about the slow adoption of the scheme in the district, noting that out of 169 recommended villages, only 26 villages have been on-boarded so far. He shared his disappointment over the low registration of the scheme in Zunheboto district, especially when compared to other districts.
A detailed presentation on PM-Vishwakarma was given by Yithule, Team Leader of PM-Vishwakarma.
Er N Toky Chishi, General Manager of District Industries Centre (DIC) Zunheboto, highlighted the significance of the PM-Vishwakarma scheme. Chishi urged the Village Council Chairpersons (VCC) to actively promote the scheme and ensure their communities are onboarded to avail of its benefits. He emphasized that if villages collaborate in such schemes, it will lead to their overall development and progress.
A vote of thanks was delivered by Tsoinchu Sangtam, EAC (Hq) Zunheboto.
A full-fledged boarding of the Gram Panchayat on PM-Vishwakarma was conducted in partnership with the TechEon One Stop Solution Zunheboto Common Service Center. Representatives from the Zunheboto District helped Village Council Chairpersons register themselves, and free Aadhaar services were provided to the VCC to correct and update their Aadhaar details.
